‘Tis the Season for Affordable Shopping at Goodwill

Look your very best and spend less this holiday season with dazzling holiday attire, stylish sweaters, coats and winter accessories from Goodwill's 38 central Indiana retail stores.

With more than 3,000 pieces of low-priced merchandise added to the sales floor daily, shopping at your local Goodwill stores helps make this holiday shopping season both festive and affordable.

“Our customers typically shop our retail stores during the holidays because they know we carry everything from great designer holiday fashions to winter coats and accessories for just a fraction of the original cost,” said Kent Kramer, vice president of retail operations. “In today's ailing economy, we are seeing some new faces and more of our existing shoppers.”

For self-proclaimed bargain shopper, Karen Miles, shopping at Goodwill stores during the holidays is a way for her to purchase quality merchandise and stretch her holiday shopping budget. “I always shop at Goodwill, but it's been especially critical for me to shop here during this holiday season with the economy being so bad,” said Miles. “Shopping here allows me to buy brand name clothes for holiday functions that are really expensive in most department stores.”

Brownsburg Goodwill Store now open

Shopping and donating to Goodwill is now easier for Brownsburg residents. On Oct. 2, Goodwill Industries opened its first retail store in the Brownsburg community. This is the organization's 38th retail store and third in Hendricks County.

“For the last several years, we have operated a very successful attended donation center (ADC) in the community,” said Tim Cooper, retail director. “Brownsburg is experiencing tremendous growth, and we know that the residents would support a Goodwill retail store in this area.”

The Brownsburg Goodwill Store occupies the former Sullivan Hardware building, located at 11 E. Garner Road, and boasts 10,400 square feet, three checkout lanes, a donation drive-thru center and 25 employees.
